I just had dinner with my housemate and we made delicious french toast (I like breakfast food for dinner!). It was delicious but for some reason it just didn't seem right. It wasn't that we made it incorrectly, it was the syrup that was messing with our meal. Apparently it was a 'Lite' version, low in sugar and 50% less calories.
When low-fat products were first introduced, everyone was making the switch because they thought it was healthier. In fact, studies have proven that eating low-fat products don't quite cut it. In turn, the consumption of these 'modified' foods that don't taste like the original make us actually eat more.
Most low-fat dressings trigger our hunger pangs and we mindlessly consume more. For most people, overconsumption occurs when they actually consume low-fat products because they think eating more of a less fat cheese is okay. Low-fat products are designed to help reduce the intake of excess fat so be careful not to consume more just because its low-fat!
What low-fat products have you guys tried?
